Gardevoir is a Psychic-type Pokemon first introduced in the Ruby / Sapphire generation of Pokemon games. It evolves from Kirlia at level 30, in which Kirlia evolves from Ralts at level 20. It is said to be willing to protect its Trainer, even at the cost of its own life. It is the Special counterpart of Gallade, even possess the same role as status inflicter like Gallade. In offensive moves arsenal, Gardevoir has Calm Mind to boost its power, then proceed to sweep with Psychic, Magical Leaf, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, or Shadow Ball. However, despite of this quite large Special movepool, Gardevoir is more of a status inflicter with moves such as Thunder Wave, Hypnosis, and Will-o-Wisp.
The name 'Gardevoir' is likely derived from the French phrase 'garde de voir,' which can be loosely translated as 'female guardian of sight,' or '...of seeing.'
