Magma Cavern (Japanese: マグマのちてい, Hepburn: Magma Depths) is the fifteenth dungeon in Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team. After floor 23, the player is given an option to save and heal before continuing on to Magma Cavern Pit, which takes place on the outside of the mountain. It has two floors, with the third floor and the legendary Pokémon boss, Groudon, at the peak. There is a chance of finding a Monster House on floors 9-23, or a Kecleon Shop on floors 2–6. There is no chance of finding a buried item in this dungeon. The entire dungeon is dark.

Plot

Alakazam and his team went to the Magma Cavern to stop the tremors that were happening. However they never come back and all the Pokémon at the square were worried about them. Later Blastoise, Octillery and Golem went to the Magma Cavern to find Alakazam and his team. Blastoise and his team were however wiped out and were about to give up but the player's partner encouraged everyone to not give up and keep trying. The player and his partner went to the Magma Cavern to find Alakazam and his team. They succeeded in finding them and battled against Groudon. After defeating Groudon, the Magma Cavern had several tremors and Alakazam ordered everyone to get out of the cave.
